Associations’ Board

ICSSPE conducts its work mainly through the Associations' Board. The Associations' Board comprises representatives of major constituted international member associations or organisations of the Council. It is a forum for interdisciplinary exchange and co-operation which is charged with the task of developing and enhancing the Council's scientific profile through diverse activities.
 
The Associations' Board elects its Speaker for a four-year period. The Speaker is an ex-officio member of the Executive Board and President's Committee. In addition to the Speaker and in accordance with the rules laid down in Article 10.1 of these Statutes, the Associations' Board elects two or more Representatives to the Executive Board for a four-year period. The Associations' Board meets at least every two years. For more information on its duties and activities, see also the ICSSPE Statutes and Bye-Laws. As of January 2008 and following a decision of the 23rd General Assembly, the Associations' Board is composed of the following organisations:

• Fédération Internationale d'Education Physique (FIEP);
• International Association for Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW);
• International Association for Sport and Leisure Facilities (IAKS);
• International Association of Philosophy of Sport (IAPS);
• International Council for Coach Education (ICCE);
• International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA);
• International Paralympic Committee (IPC);
• International Society for Comparative Physical Education and Sport (ISCPES);
• International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK);
• International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport (ISHPES);
• International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP);
• International Sociology of Sport Association (ISSA);
• International University Sports Federation (FISU);
• Special Olympics Inc.;
• The Association for International Sport for All (TAFISA);
• WomenSport International (WSI)

 
The Associations' Board maintains close co-operation with the following informal networks or working groups:

• International Committee of Sport Pedagogy (ICSP);
• World Commission of Sciences and Sports (WCSS)
